CLUB FOOT - Cause by a dislocated sacrum in the foal or weanling. The foal is pulling theirself forward with one front foot. This hyper extends the fetlock, stretching the digital extensor tendon. This causes the fetlock to buckle forward, which in time causes contraction of the digital flexor tendon, thus developing the club foot. I recently realigned two foals who were born with normal hooves, and developed a club foot in the right front. Two weeks after realigning them, and having the heels lowered, one foal's club foot is almost normal, and the other one is about close to normal. I expect them to both have normal hooves within another 4 to 6 weeks.

I do not know at what age a club foot would be impossible to reverse. Hopefully, I'll know more in the future.

To Whom It May Concern:

On October 26, 2000 Dr. Robert Hathaway realigned 3 lumbars and the sacrum in our horse Express Tour.
After being seen by Dr. Hathaway, Express Tour showed marked improvement in movement and attitude.
He went on to win a Grade III Derby, and raced in the Kentucky Derby.

Thank you,
